In Memorium

Dear Easter Lily,

I'm sorry you had to die at my hand. Casey should have warned you before he brought you home to me that every plant I've ever had has died shortly after coming into my care. I tried to take good care of you, but my attempts have failed and I have been saddened to witness your withering away. When you return to that garden in the sky, please give my regards to the countless number of plants that have graced our presence for such a short time. Oh how I loved you, Easter Lily. Please forgive me.

Your non-caretaker,
Natalie

(We're lucky Benson is still alive considering my track record at caring for delicate things.)

I just...

Scarfed down half a cookie sheet of Eclair Cake.
It's Casey's fault. He said he'd love me even if I'm fat.
I guess we'll see!

Oh how we love our...

PENGUIN!!!

On the day Benson was born, his uncle, Danny brought him this stuffed penguin to the hospital.

Benson seemed to like it ok, but not particularly more than any of his other animals or toys. A few weeks ago, Benson got sick and always wanted me to sleep in his bed with him. Sometimes I love being there while he's sleeping and I don't mind sleeping in his bed once in a while or for a few minutes here or there, but I don't want to be stuck in there until he turns 12, so I thought I better figure out a way to get him to sleep without me. So one night when Benson fell asleep, I moved away from him and when he grabbed for me, I gave him his penguin. He held his penguin tight and slept with him all night! It worked! He started sleeping with his penguin and carrying it around with him. I love it because Benson's uncle Danny is on a mission in Costa Rica and whenever I see that penguin, it reminds me of Danny. I sure do miss him!

And no, these pictures are not staged. I wish I could say that about all of my pictures. I have been known to stage a picture here or there.

Ski Bunny... more like Ski Rabbit

After a terrible ski experience in 5th grade involving a pole, I vowed never to ski again. A, ahem, boyfriend of mine talked me into going snowboarding when I was 18. Since snowboarding ended up being only slightly better than my previous ski experience, I thought I would never go again. Then, when we were first married, Casey talked me into going skiing with him. Now I LOVE IT!!!! I'm not any good, but I have a lot of fun skiing with Casey. He is a great ski instructor and I have loved learning to ski next to him. I can't wait until next ski season!

Something I never thought I'd see: me smiling on skis!

Still Available!

Our duplex is still available! We've had a bunch of calls on it and even a couple of people interested, but nothing has worked out so far. If anybody knows someone who might be interested, have them email me.

Thanks!
