the man in my life

To Casey:

A mommy can do so many things
She'll fulfill her child's hopes and dreams
She'll wipe bottoms, faces, hands, and tears
She'll scrub toilets, floors, walls, and mirrors
She'll cuddle, snuggle, and kiss her child
She'll discipline the kids when they get wild
She'll fix the lunch and do the dishes
She'll listen to prayers and birthday wishes
She'll mow and trim and prune and weed
She'll shop and chop and cook and feed
She'll give first aid to a knee with a bruise
She'll hear all about the schoolyard news
She'll help with history, science, and math
She'll splash and play while she gives a bath
She'll wash and iron and hang and fold
She'll work and love until she gets old

But daddy will tease, he'll pretend and he'll play
He'll brighten up even the cloudiest day
He goes to his job and works all day long
He's good at everything and he's never wrong
He's the best in town when it comes to ball
Didn't you know? Daddy can do it all
So with all that Mom is and all she can do
There's no one like Daddy, he's special it's true

Of all the things I am to him everyday, I will never be Benson's best buddy.
Thank you for being our best friend.
I love you!

I love your poem. You pretty much nailed the truth right there. :) And the great part is that is doesn't even matter that the boys are the best buddies and not you, because you are just so happy to have them both around.
