What we've been up to...

Casey went to be fitted for a tux for his friend, Jake's wedding. He decided to take Benson with him, so here I am all alone, which is REALLY strange. Folding laundry is getting old, so I thought I'd write a little about our lives. Sorry it's LONG and BORING.

Things are going really well around here. I'm getting bigger, which may or may not be a good thing, but I still feel great, so I'm thankful for that. I have been pretty hungry, but that's normal. Last night at about 11:30 I mentioned to Casey that a PB&J sounded really good, a few minutes later he brought one into me and let me eat it in bed. He told me that whenever I craved anything, even if it's really weird and he has to drive really far to get it, that if I REALLY want it and as long as I'm not just being crazy, he'll get me anything I want and do anything for me.... what more could a pregnant lady ask for?

Benson is LOVING summer! He loves to be outside and screams whenever we have to come inside. Sometimes I think he sabatoges me because today after we came in from outside he dumped this entire bag of chex mix on the floor. After that, we went outside where messes don't have to be cleaned up. Good thing it only cost 60 cents.

Benson has found a DEEP LOVE for "teats"... He is always asking for them and trying to sneak them behind my back. The other day, Casey gave Benson this chocolate bunny that has been hiding since Easter. Benson loves his chocolate "munny"
We feel really lucky that Casey is going to work this summer. His contract is to work 9 months out of the year, but his pay is pro-rated, so he gets a paycheck all year long. If he works during the summer, he'll get 2 paychecks, if not, he just gets the same pay as usual. Luckily, his boss asked him to work this summer, and has given Casey a lot more responsibility, which is wonderful. It would have been fun to have the summer off and to play for 3 months, but it'll be better to get 2 paychecks. Also, they have every Friday off, so we'll still play a lot.

We are really lucky to have pools to go swimming in. There are pools at both grandparents' houses, and Benson LOVES SWIMMING. Usually he doesn't wear hot pink floties and goggles, but he almost always has a gun in his hand. We have to be super careful with him because he is really daring and will just jump off the edge of the pool or walk off the stairs even if there isn't anyone there to catch him. He loves jumping off the diving board, going down the slide, and putting his head under the water.
We joined a bowling league with Tami and Nick. It is a TON of fun! Casey started out doing amazing, and the rest of us are working our way up. Even though we basically suck, it's a lot of fun going on a date once a week and getting out.
We went with Casey's parents to their cabin last weekend. We drove to Hardware ranch and then took the 4 wheeler and rhino into the cabin. We made it about 1/2 a mile away from the cabin before we hit snow. After getting stuck a couple times and forcing our way through a few more snow patches, we decided to ditch the 4 wheelers and walk into the cabin. It was a lot of fun. We didn't stay for very long, but we had a TON of fun! Benson LOVES the rhino and now everytime we go to Grandma and Grandpa's, Benson begs for the rhino. He even started calling his Grandpa "Rhino Mike".... so cute!
On a side note, we are really glad to live around both of our families. It is really nice to call either Grandma or Benson's aunts to watch him whenever we need him to. I'm glad that Benson is able to know who his grandparents (and great-grandparents) are. I love that he has some cousins to play with, but we really miss the cousins that are far away. We get to see everyone so often and we really love it.

ha ha, my laundry is sitting on my floor and I am supposed to be folding it too... I'm so jealous that you get to be close to mom. And after spending a few weeks with that crazy (and cute) Benson, I can testify that the LOVES treats (and knows where to find them) and is a maniac in the pool. Miss you guys!

I don't know what it is about that boy but I just love him to pieces and I have bonded with him a ton!!! It's fun to bowl with you guys and I hope I get better at bowling cuz last week I really sucked! Sure love you guys!

I'm glad to hear you guys are doing so well! Lucky ducks to have two pools to play at. Congrats on the baby! That is so exciting! I hope the sleepyness passes for you, it did for me at week 13. But now it's back, and you better believe I am taking advantage of the chance to nap every day while Emma does. I can't wait to find out what you're having. January sounds like a good time of year for a baby. Congrats again!
